jean sini, chief technology officer
Jean drives activeweave’s technical vision and architecture. His expertise and interests are primarily focused on the design and development of distributed computing infrastructures and products. Based in Silicon Valley since 1996, he has honed his leadership and software engineering skills over the last 17 years, building large-scale multi-tiered platforms and managing international engineering teams. Prior to co-founding activeweave in 2005, Jean held Director and Senior Director of Software Engineering positions at Oracle and Symbol Technologies. He holds Masters Degrees in Computer Science from Telecom Paris and the Computer Science Laboratories at the Paris University. His leadership roles in the software industry have been consistently focused on innovative technologies, ranging from distributed Internet architectures to mobile computing platforms, and have also enabled him to develop robust engineering processes. He has gradually focused on refining the technologies, methodologies and best practices conducive to effective collaborative work. Jean initially launched activeweave as a playground to experiment with information sharing models and efficient user-experience paradigms. He now aims to build the ultimate social sharing medium, one that fosters an advanced collaboration experience. « Over the years, my responsibilities leading engineering teams to develop and deliver enterprise-caliber software have turned me into a passionate nurturer of collaboration: the role played by the collaborative dimension in our work is critical. Accurate information dissemination is at the heart of what ultimately makes or breaks any project: designing the right software for instance, relies intimately on a shared understanding of what and how to build; we need to capture and refine better, relevant, up-to-date information, while avoiding the much dreaded overload. With activeweave I take the lessons learned from that intense work environment and expand the underlying concepts, to augment the web browsing experience of all. » Send Jean any suggestions about activeweave, or post comments on our blog.
