Marc has done stints at several world-class research laboratories, including Xerox PARC, DEC WSL, Interval, and Olivetti Research, was one of the founders of Tibco, sold to Reuters in the early 90's, as well as of two technical and management consulting firms, MAR Associates, which was sold to LPS, Italy in 1988, and Software Design Studio.

His expertise is in creating business and technical roadmaps, as well as software architecture and algorithms, which he combines with business operations experience gained over fifteen years of bottom-line responsibility in high-tech consulting.

"In the seventies, as a researcher at Berkeley, I helped build the first relational database management system. In the eighties at PARC, I built systems to structure knowledge along personalized perspectives. In the early-nineties, at Teknekron Software Systems (later Tibco), we built the first publish-subscribe, content-addressable data architectures. With activeweave, we're bringing all these influences together. And by the way, we now have the Web and maturing models of social trust circles to leverage off of too! We're immensely excited at the opportunity to further the potential of socially-structured collaborative interaction on the web."
